Synopsis

Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt star in this 80's classic as two Catholic schoolgirls desperate for a place on Chicago's Dance TV.

Sneaking off after class to attend the audition round, the girls meet two cute boys who have exactly the same idea - and when Janey (SJP) gets picked to dance with Jeff in the final, she can hardly believe her luck.

Naturally, her stern military father won't be having any of this, so Janey is forced to bribe her brother and sneak out for secret night-time rehearsals while the family is sound asleep.

With a cracking soundtrack (including the Cyndi Lauper title track) and SJP in a Catholic Girls' uniform, this is one piece of 80's nostalgia you simply must own!

"Sundry youth picture stand-bys one imagined were fossilised by the mid-'60s get an '80s spin in this piece of celluloid candy-floss, which has Parker outwitting the high school vicious circle to carry the day at a TV dance contest. Hunt's fizzing performance as her go-ahead best pal makes you wonder why the actress subsequently took so long to break through to the Hollywood front rank."
